The raw material for peddignad and kooboo loonty rattan is also the rattan palm, which is found in tropical rainforests. Thanks to its longitudinal fibres, it is extremely flexible and strong, growing up to 200-300 metres long lianas.
The peddignad is made from the inner part of the rattan, so it is easy to shape and does not break. Excellent for basket weaving, home decoration and crafts. It can be dyed, stained and surface treated, making it the base material for many decorative projects.
Kooboo loonty rattan is a shelled rattan from which the leaves are removed. There are differences between hand and machine processed rattan. Please look at the pictures.
The product name is spelled in many different ways: kooboo lunty, koobu lunty etc.
