Material: folded and rolled, latex-treated cellulose that is decorative on both sides. Nominal width of weave strand: 3 mm. Roll width: 90 cm; the rattan by the metre strands extend at least 2 cm beyond each side of the nominal roll width. Roll length: 15.24 meters (50 feet). Quality: first class. Load capacity: for decorative use. The tensile strength of the strands matches natural rattan, but it does not fully recover its size after heavy loading, so it is not suitable for seating surfaces. This product is available as rattan by the metre.
It is made from folded and rolled, latex-impregnated cellulose fabric, whose special manufacturing technology ensures high durability and tensile strength similar to natural rattan sheets. This product is designed specifically for decorative purposes, so it is not recommended for repairing or recaning Thonet chairs. Our solid patterned rattan sheets are available in various widths in our online store. It has moderate resistance to moisture, making it suitable for many indoor uses. It may slightly stretch under greater load; however, unlike natural rattan sheets, it does not fully recover its original tautness after the load is removed. It is ideal for creating door insert, wall guard panels, lamp shades, or room divider panels whenever you want the look of natural rattan in a more cost-effective form. Its uniform surface and even texture provide an aesthetic appearance, while the price is significantly more favorable than natural rattan sheets. We offer a 10% discount on the price of a full roll of PRA-3-90 material.
Room divider panels made from solid artificial rattan are ideal if you want to elegantly separate parts of the room. Thanks to its lightweight design, this product can be easily moved, so the space can be rearranged quickly and flexibly. The warm yellowish shades of the rattan sheets create a friendly, natural atmosphere that fits harmoniously into most interiors. It can be perfectly used in living rooms, bedrooms, or even for setting up a comfortable home office corner and also works well as wall guard panels. The full-surface fabric covering not only provides the panel with an aesthetic look, but also offers effective privacy protection. This room divider panel offers the perfect balance between practicality and refined design.
Surface finishing of the decorative fabric is quick and easy since it is highly compatible with both water- and solvent-based paints and stains. The latex coating applied during manufacturing protects the material from the harmful effects of finishing, so the fabric does not disintegrate and retains its original strength. For a uniform and aesthetically pleasing result, we recommend applying paint by spraying in several thin layers. When using a brush, paint may seep through to the back, which can be noticeable in applications where both sides are visible, such as cabinet door panel inserts. However, in applications where the back side is not visible, this is not an aesthetic issue.
For fixing rattan panels, it is not recommended to use contact or water-based adhesives as moisture may stretch the material, leading to deformation after drying. Best results can be achieved with a flexible, paste-like adhesive, such as a silicone-based glue. Apply glue evenly to the backing surface with a fine-toothed spatula to ensure good adhesion across the whole area. It is important to use the right amount of adhesive: too much may seep through the fibers and too little will result in poor fixing. Then place the rattan by the metre onto the surface and press it evenly to ensure perfect adhesion. Cabinet door panel inserts like this can be made from our decorative fabric.
Maintaining and cleaning the paper rattan is extremely easy. Basically it requires no maintenance, but if needed, it can be wiped clean with a cloth dampened with mild detergent.
