The pattern of egg and dart cornice can be interpreted as an arched and floral pattern, also. The arch is a structure dating from the time of ancient Greek architecture and was widespread in Roman times. Its use was already commonplace in the Middle Ages, and it became widespread in  architecture and residential construction. It also features a floral tulip motif, which has been given a prominent role in decorative art and has been depicted in many ways. We can see the depiction of tulips on furniture as wooden moldings, but tulips can also be found on work tools, dishes, headstones and clothes.
