A crucial rule is to retract the blind in very windy or stormy weather, thus preventing damage to both the mechanism and the bamboo. Pay special attention never to roll up the blind when it is wet, as it may become moldy when rolled up damp; in this case, always let it dry out completely in a lowered position. Additionally, for added protection, it is advised to remove the shade in winter and store it in a dry place, such as a garage or basement.
