Material: folded and rolled, latex-treated cellulose that is equally decorative on both sides. Weaving strand nominal width: 3 mm. Roll width: 60 cm, with the strands extending at least 2 cm beyond the nominal width on both sides. Roll length: 15.24 m (50 feet). Quality: first class - load capacity suitable for decorative use. The tensile strength of the strands is similar to that of natural rattan, but under strong load it does not fully regain its original shape, so it is not suitable for seating surfaces. This product is available as rattan by the metre. We offer a 10% discount for purchasing a full roll.
It is made from folded and rolled, latex-impregnated cellulose fabric, which, thanks to a special manufacturing process, is extremely durable and has tensile strength similar to natural rattan sheets. This product is specifically designed for decorative purposes, and is not recommended for repairing or re-caning Thonet chairs. Our rattan sheets are available in various widths in our webshop. It has moderate resistance to moisture, making it suitable for many indoor applications. It may stretch slightly under heavy load, but unlike natural rattan material, it does not fully recover its original tension after the load is removed. It can be excellently used for cabinet door panel inserts, wall protectors, lampshades, and room divider panels when you want to achieve the look of natural rattan at a more cost-effective price. Its uniform surface and even texture on both sides guarantee an aesthetic appearance, while its price is much more favorable compared to natural rattan sheets.
An indoor room divider panels made from artificial rattan is an ideal choice for elegantly separating sections of a room. Thanks to its lightweight design, this product is easy to move, allowing you to quickly and flexibly rearrange your space as needed. The warm, yellowish hues of the rattan sheets create a friendly, natural ambiance that fits harmoniously into most interiors. It can be used perfectly in living rooms, bedrooms, or even to shape a comfortable home office corner. A full-surface fabric covering not only gives the panel an aesthetic look, but can also provide effective privacy protection. If you are looking for trendy room divider panels, this product could be a perfect choice!
It cannot be glued with contact or water-based adhesive, as the material stretches due to water, causing deformation when it dries. Artificial rattan sheets can be glued well with paste-like flexible adhesives (such as Silicone). Spread the adhesive evenly over the surface using a dense, fine-toothed spatula. Be attentive to the amount of glue applied, as too much may seep through the strands and too little will not securely fix the material. Lay the rattan by the metre onto the recipient surface and press it until dry.
The load capacity of paper-based artificial rattan is low, so it is mainly used for decorative purposes. It is excellent for creating room divider panels, cabinet door panel inserts, and trendy room divider panels. It is not suitable for making chair seats or other load-bearing structures! Mainly used in areas where the surface is not exposed to physical stress. With proper use and maintenance, solid rattan will keep its attractive look for a long time. You can create this type of and similar door insert from our artificial rattan sheets.
The surface treatment of rattan sheets is extremely easy, as they can be painted and stained equally well with both solvent-based and water-based substances. Thanks to the latex treatment used in production, paints and stains do not negatively affect the stability of the material; it does not absorb moisture and retains its strength throughout the finishing process. For best results, it is recommended to apply the paint by spraying in several thin layers. When painting with a brush, paint may seep through to the backside, which can present an aesthetic issue in applications where both sides of the material are visible, such as in door insert. However, in applications where the back side remains hidden, this does not pose a problem.
