How to mount wooden carvings?
No special tools are required for mounting. You only need a few easily available items: sandpaper, wood glue (D2 or D3), and something to clamp the wooden onlays while drying. Steps for application: it is advisable to sand the back of the wooden carving before gluing, and prepare the surface by sanding as well if possible. Apply glue to both previously sanded and cleaned surfaces, then distribute it evenly. Then simply press the two surfaces together during drying. This can be done in various ways: with a cabinetmaker's clamp or by pressing with weights. If any glue seeps out around the wooden carving, we recommend wiping it off with a slightly damp cloth before it dries. It is best to wait for full drying, which can take 12-24 hours; after that, the clamp or press can be removed.
