How to glue the mouldings during antique furniture restoration?

Apply a thin, even layer of wood glue to both prepared surfaces, then carefully join the two pieces together. For drying, press them together with a cabinetmaker clamp or a weight. If glue seeps out on the sides, simply wipe it off with a damp cloth. It is advisable to wait the recommended 24 hours for drying.

What other ways are there to fix the mouldings?

If gluing is not suitable for any reason, the moulding can also be fixed mechanically. For this task, small brads or wire nails are recommended, as they are less visible and do not damage the wood. It is important to insert the nails into pre-drilled holes to prevent the wood from splitting. You can sink the heads below the wood surface with a countersink, making it easier to cover the area later with wood filler.
