The RK-203 type wooden carvings are made based on classic snowflake and flower patterns, which cabinetmaker and restoration professionals often use. The motif evokes natural forms, making it well-suited to both classic and antique furniture. When repairing furniture, it can be easily fixed and painted or lacquered as desired.
The wooden carvings' dimensions: width from 10 cm to 24 cm, height from 10 cm to 24 cm, thickness from 0.7 cm to 0.9 cm, available in several sizes. The size tolerance is plus or minus 3%. The square rosette is decorated with snowflake and applique flower patterns. It is made from exotic (rubber) wood. Rubberwood is an eco-friendly choice since, after latex production, it is reused for furniture manufacturing. A particularly valuable property of wooden carvings is that its medium hardness creates an ideal balance between workability and durability. Because of its good properties, it is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to traditional European wood types. The ornament is not surface treated.
The surface of the wooden carvings has been finely sanded before packaging, so it is prepared for painting and staining. The products are in stock and can be shipped immediately; after ordering, they may be handed over to the courier as soon as the next day. The product is not made from pressed sawdust, but from real, solid wood. The patterns are classic in design and available in several sizes. In cabinetmaker work, pre-carved ornaments provide a quick and clean solution. You can also obtain our CNC-manufactured ornaments in excellent quality at favorable prices.
The ornament is suitable for decorating chests of drawers, doors, cabinets, drawer fronts, or dry gates. It can be used in antique furniture restoration or for smaller repairs when an existing pattern needs to be complemented. In cabinetmaker workshops, this symmetrical carving is a common accessory, available in several sizes. The applique flower patterns fit well with classic style wooden furniture.
The carving can be fixed with wood glue (D2 or D3), but if necessary, it can also be reinforced with small brad or wire nails. For nailing it is advisable to pre-drill to avoid splitting the wood. Sink the head of the nails into the surface and cover them with wood filler. After the ornament is fixed and dusted, the surface can be painted or lacquered immediately.
The RK-203 wooden carvings are sold with an untreated surface. Depending on your choice of material, it can be painted, stained, oiled, or lacquered. Work should be carried out on a dust-free surface, applying several thin layers. During cabinetmaker work, stain or satin varnish is often used. After repairing furniture, a uniform, durable surface can be created with this. Before staining and painting, it is recommended to use a filling primer (e.g., Milesi) to fill the cut wood fibers so the application will have an even color.
The applique flower patterns on historical furniture evoke natural forms. In the Rococo and Classicist eras, wooden carvings often used flower patterns to convey balance and harmony. These may symbolize love, youth, and earthly existence, and due to their symmetry, can also allude to the Sun and Earth. Master cabinetmakers used these shapes on chests of drawers, cabinets, and tables. The RK-203 design follows these traditions, executed with modern technology.
