The RK-007 wooden carvings are versatile: they can be used as a wooden window moulding accessory, moulding end, drawer ornament, or as a corner piece in antique furniture restoration. The simple pyramid design fits well with both modern and classic furniture surfaces. Cabinetmakers often use them as a visual closure or decorative addition in their work.
The answer is simple: first, sand the receiving surface, then remove the dust. You don't need to sand the back of the carving. Apply a thin layer of wood glue to both surfaces and press them together while drying. You can use a weight or a cabinetmaker's clamp for pressing. It is worth waiting for the recommended drying time, which is usually 24 hours.
If gluing is not possible, the carving can also be mechanically fastened. For this operation, it is recommended to use small brads or wire nails, which are less visible and do not damage the wood. It is important to insert nails into pre-drilled holes to prevent the wood from splitting. You can drive the heads below the surface of the carving with a countersink, making it easier to cover them aesthetically with wood filler later. Fill the nail head holes with wood filler.
Our wooden carvings are sold unfinished, so you can decide which surface finish you prefer. You may paint, oil, varnish, or stain the surface of the wooden carvings as you wish for harmony with your furniture style. For example, you may choose a layer of varnish, which provides long-lasting protection against wear. A coat of paint can highlight the details of the carvings. The choice is entirely in your hands, depending on the final effect you wish to achieve.
The pyramid is one of the oldest geometric symbols and represents permanence and stability. It has often appeared in architecture and wooden carvings, especially as building decorations and on furniture corners. Cabinetmakers have used simple pyramid-shaped end pieces since the 19th century to achieve a unified, clean appearance. In modern wooden window moulding and furniture restoration work, this shape combines classic proportions with a contemporary look.
