To attach wooden carvings, it is recommended to use a strong wood adhesive (D2 or D3) which provides stable hold in the long term. Our products can be mounted not only onto solid wood surfaces but can also be easily fixed to plywood, MDF, or even plasterboard. For lasting results, it is advisable to gently sand the surfaces before gluing, then clean off dust and grease. Apply the adhesive evenly to both the receiving surface and the back of the ornament, then press the parts together with precise alignment and secure them with a clamp or weight during drying. For complete bonding, it is recommended to wait at least 24 hours to ensure the decoration remains durable and attractive.
Thanks to the excellent properties of exotic wood, decorative elements can be treated with almost any finishing process. You can choose between two main techniques, depending on whether you want to highlight or conceal the natural grain of the wood. For surfaces that require full coverage, painting is recommended, as it provides a uniform color. Where you want to preserve the original grain of the wood, staining, oiling, or waxing are the right choices, since these are translucent. If you choose glazing, it is recommended to treat the surface with a filler primer (e.g., Milesi) beforehand, so the cut fibers will color the same as the rest of the ornament.
