How can I attach the wooden window moulding?

Our wooden onlays can easily be glued to any flat surface made from or covered in wood, no special tools or expertise required! First, sand the back of the wooden ornament and the receiving surface, then carefully remove any dust from both. Then, spread a thin, even layer of wood glue on both surfaces, and press them together precisely. Any glue that oozes out can be wiped off with a damp cloth before it dries to avoid marks. Press the joined surfaces together with a clamp or weight during drying, which can take up to 24 hours.

What surface finishing methods can be used on wooden carvings?

Before starting any surface finishing method, make sure the surface is free from dust and grease. By lacquering, glazing, staining, oiling, or waxing, you can highlight the grain pattern of the wood. For glazing, it is recommended to use a filling primer (such as Milesi) to avoid color differences. With covering paint, you can match the color of the door mouldings to your new furniture.

The cultural history of the acanthus leaf

The acanthus leaf is one of the oldest and most significant decorative motifs in Western culture, present in art and architecture for more than 2,500 years. Its principal meanings are eternal life, rebirth, and indomitable vitality, since the plant is incredibly resilient and regenerates quickly, even when its leaves are cut. The traditional acanthus decorations on Corinthian columns serve as the basis for furniture legs and corner ornaments. The acanthus motif is a timeless choice, offering an elegant and classic appearance while carrying deep cultural roots and positive symbolism.
