This is a wood material from a sustainable source that is a secondary product of rubber plantations, which makes it an excellent choice from an environmental point of view. Its medium hardness provides an ideal balance between workability and durability, which is a particularly valuable feature for wooden carvings. Its natural light color provides a neutral base for any surface treatment technique—from paint, through stains, to wax. This product is not surface-treated.

How can I attach wooden carvings?

Our ornaments can be easily glued to any flat wooden or wood-covered surface (or can be nailed if needed). First, sand the back of the wooden ornament and the receiving surface, then thoroughly remove the dust from both. Then apply a thin, even layer of woodworking glue to both surfaces and join them together accurately. If any glue seeps out, it is advisable to wipe it off with a damp cloth before drying so that it leaves no mark. Clamp the joined surfaces together with a carpenter's clamp or weight during drying, which can take up to 24 hours.

What surface treatment methods can be used on wooden carvings?

Before surface treatment, make sure that the ornament is free of dust and grease. By lacquering, staining, varnishing, oiling, or waxing, you can enhance the wood grain's pattern. When staining, it is recommended to use a primer (Milési) to avoid tone differences. With topcoat paint, you can adjust the color of the palmetta to the color of the furniture being made.

The scalloped pattern means several things at once and appears as an important symbol in many cultures around the world. The opening shell cup primarily symbolizes femininity.
