You only need to specify the desired size, material, and shape, and we will create the perfect piece. Our selection of wood products is natural and untreated, so when repairing antique furniture, it can be freely painted, stained, or lacquered according to your vision.
To ensure we can craft your custom wooden carvings as precisely as possible, please provide a high-quality image, drawing, or photo that shows the design from multiple angles. Additionally, please specify the exact dimensions—width, height, thickness—as well as the desired quantity. The maximum size that can be accommodated in the milling machine is 65 x 45 x 4 cm. Lastly, don't forget to specify the type of wood you want for the product, so our artisans can create the piece that best suits your needs.
As these usually involve particularly intricate and detailed designs, the average design fee is 120 EUR. Most of our previously produced wooden carvings with VN/RN/FN/SN/GN item numbers can be resized, resulting in a more favorable price. The listed prices already include the cost of 2–3 minor modifications, so you don’t have to pay extra for every small change. It’s important to note that in most cases we offer a custom price, as every order is unique. The fees listed here are guide prices, which help you plan the costs of furniture making in advance. The right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for custom-made products, as these are made to order (GTC).
Custom-made, uniquely shaped wooden carvings can be used in a variety of ways for interior design and furniture restoration. They are often used to decorate doors, furniture fronts, fireplaces, or ceiling ornaments, imparting an elegant, classic atmosphere to the space. They are also ideal for repairing antique furniture, when it is necessary to replace or restore the original details of old furniture or architectural elements. Smaller carvings are also perfect for decorating mirror and picture frames, as well as stair railings. Whether placed in a modern or traditional interior, these unique wooden decorations bring warmth and natural elegance to any setting.
For producing custom decorations, we primarily recommend beech and oak, as these wood types are durable, easy to work with, and provide an elegant appearance. For simpler, 2D designs or shapes, plywood or MDF can be a good solution; these are affordable and easily shaped base materials. MDF is especially suitable for milling circular, rectangular, or other simple shapes, where deep, three-dimensional embossing is not required. However, it's important to note that MDF is more fragile, and its sharp corners and fine details can easily chip during sanding. For this reason, we strongly recommend using hardwood for complex, 3D-effect carvings to ensure durability and beautiful results in furniture restoration and when repairing antique furniture.
Professional cabinetmakers and diy wood projects alike can simply glue these carvings or moldings onto any wooden or wood-covered flat surface. Before gluing, it's advisable to sand the back of the product and the receiving surface, then thoroughly remove any dust from both. Next, apply a thin, even layer of wood glue to both sides and align the surfaces precisely together. If any glue seeps out, wipe it away with a damp cloth before it dries to prevent marks. For secure attachment, it is recommended to clamp or weigh down the ornament for the entire drying time, which can take up to 24 hours. If gluing is not the ideal solution, durable fitting can also be achieved by mechanically fastening the carving. For this purpose, small brads or wire nails are most suitable, as they are less visible and cause minimal damage to the wood. To avoid wood cracking, it is important to always insert nails into predrilled holes. Use a countersink to drive the heads below the wood surface, so that the surface can be covered aesthetically. Fill the nail heads with wood filler to ensure a uniform and reliable attachment.
