It is round in shape with a central flower motif. This decoration is made from exotic (rubber) wood. Rubber wood has ecological benefits, as it is made as a by-product of rubber plantations, making it a recycled material. Because of its light and natural color, it provides a neutral base for all surface finishing methods— from painting to stains and wax. It is an excellent raw material for fine woodworking. How can you glue carved wooden flowers?
According to the previous instructions, preparing the receiving surface is important. Since our decorations are shipped pre-sanded, there is no need to sand them again before application. The next step is to apply a thin layer of wood glue to both the receiving surface and the back of the decoration, then press it into place. While drying—usually about 24 hours—clamp or press the two surfaces together; using a clamp or some weight is recommended. If you are attaching the carving to a non-wood surface, it is recommended to use contact adhesive or fix the piece with small-headed nails.
What should you pay attention while applying surface treatment
It is important to ensure the surface is always clean and dust-free before you begin working. Before staining, coat the surface of the decoration with a filler primer (Milesi) to fill the fibers cut during carving (optional—for a more uniform finish). For enthusiastic amateurs, the combination of stains and satin varnish is most recommended. When using these, just make sure to apply the finishing material in a thin, even layer. For the best result, it is advisable to apply two or three thin coats.
