Our wooden onlays can be easily glued on any flat wooden or wood-covered surface, and you do not even need fine woodworking skills! Sand the back of the carving and the receiving surface, and then thoroughly remove the dust from both. Then apply a thin, even layer of wood glue to both surfaces and fit the pieces together. Press the parts together with a wood clamp or weight for the drying period, which may take up to 24 hours. Any glue that seeps out should be wiped off with a wet cloth before it dries, so it will not leave a mark.
Before starting any surface treatment, make sure the surface is free of dust and grease. With lacquering, glazing, staining, oiling, or waxing you can highlight the grain pattern of the wood. When staining, it is advisable to use a filler primer (such as Milesi) to avoid tonal differences. With covering paint, you can match the color of the ornament to the new furniture.
