Sand the back of the carving and the receiving surface, and then thoroughly remove the dust from both. Then apply a thin, even layer of wood glue to both surfaces and fit the pieces together. Press the parts together with a wood clamp or weight for the drying period, which may take up to 24 hours. Any glue that seeps out should be wiped off with a wet cloth before it dries, so it will not leave a mark.
