If you want to cut the material along the grain, you must first glue the weaving threads to the sticks and slats (otherwise the material will come apart). Apply wood glue that dries clear in a 1 cm wide strip before and after the cut. Once dried, glue the strip on the other side of the material as well. After both sides have dried, the material can be easily cut along the grain with a sharp knife or wallpaper cutter. If you want to cut it across the grain, you can use a fine saw, metal shears, or pruning shears. First-class material may contain very minor flaws, with 1 to 3 small defects per meter. Second-class material can have 4 to 6 small defects per meter, such as small spots, mismatched, or broken ends of bamboo sticks. The color of second-class beadboard panels is less uniform, and the sticks at the ends of the panel may not be perfectly straight.
