Before starting any surface treatment, make sure the surface is free of dust and grease. By varnishing, glazing, staining, oiling and waxing, you can highlight the wood grain pattern. For glazing, it's worth considering a filler primer (Milesi), which helps to avoid tonal differences. With covering paint, you can match its color to the colors of the furniture being made.
Our wood carvings can easily be glued onto any wood or wood-covered flat surface, and for this, you do not even need a kitchen joiner's expertise! First, sand the back of the wood carving if needed and the receiving surface, then thoroughly remove any dust from both. Next, apply a thin, even layer of wood glue to both surfaces and press them together. Remove any excess glue with a damp cloth before it dries to avoid leaving marks. Clamp or weigh down the joined surfaces during drying, which can take up to 24 hours.
Wood corner molding are key decorative features that give a unique character to any piece of furniture or interior element. The use of palmetta in furniture making has never been static, but has adapted to each style. In the Baroque era, it appeared in a richer, more rounded form, often combined with shell motifs. During classicism, it reverted to the original, strictly symmetrical and geometric form, emphasizing clean lines and harmonious proportions.
