All the inlaid furniture in our webshop is made of wood, a natural material that can be varnished as you wish when making or restoring furniture at home. The inlaid pattern of article number INT-305 will be a decorative feature of any inlaid table and cabinet. It will fit well with most furniture designs, whether it is antique furniture restoration or modern cabinet making at home.
To work with decorative wood strips is a time-consuming craft activity that requires a lot of patience and attention. If you follow a few golden rules, however, you will not fail. One such activity is gluing of intarsia wood patterns and other marquetry kits. Most types of glue used in the woodworking industry can be used for it. You can use an iron to help the glue dry faster. Be careful not to use a temperature that is too high, otherwise the veneer inlay will discolour.
Why is the marquetry fillet 0.6 mm thick?
The 0.6 mm thick veneer is the most common in Europe, so this is the most practical width to produce. If the veneer is thinner and you need to add the intarsias, there is no problem as you can sand the two materials together.
Is it possible to produce custom-shaped, intarsia wood patterns elements?
It is, but as the decorative wood strip intarsias are very time-consuming, it is only worth producing over 500 metres. If a custom inlay is included in the request for quotation, we cannot manufacture it for orders under 2,000 pieces.
