A professional cabinetmaker or restorer commands a high fee, so it can be quite costly. However, if you enjoy DIY, you can take on a challenge and restore your selected piece of furniture yourself. This way, you'll only need to account for the material costs and can manage your own time freely for the restoration. Restoring an old piece of furniture can be a truly exciting project—see for yourself!
First, sand the surface where you intend to apply it. Next, carefully dust both surfaces. Spread glue in a thin, even layer on both prepared surfaces and then align them precisely. It is advisable to secure the elements with a clamp or weight during drying. If the glue seeps out at the edges, simply wipe it off with a damp cloth. To ensure full curing, it is recommended to wait the suggested 24-hour drying period.
Almost all of our cabinetmaker products are sold in a natural finish, and our wood ornaments are no exception. It's frequently asked how and with what these items can be finished. Any decoration can be painted, stained, glazed, or even receive a lacquered coat. As for finishing, it is always recommended to decide based on what suits the specific project. In our opinion, painting and then lacquering the decorative wood carving is the simplest method.
The general meaning of the floral motif is multifaceted. The floral motif can symbolize love, vitality, renewal, and beauty alike. Its specific meaning almost always depends on the color of the flower and its cultural context. One can be certain that the symbolism of flowers is a deeply rooted motif in human culture.
The tulip is also a symbol with a complex meaning. It equally represents perfect love, affection, and fertility. In European folk art, it appears as an ancient feminine symbol, representing womanhood, motherhood, and life. The use of tulip ornaments during furniture restoration can help to express these feelings on the chosen piece. A piece of furniture decorated with a tulip ornament represents not just beauty, but also deeper symbolic meaning.
