It is recommended to use a strong woodworking adhesive (D2 or D3) to fix the carvings, which provides long-lasting stability. Our products can be mounted not only on solid wood surfaces, but also easily attached to plywood, MDF, or even drywall. For a lasting result, it is advisable to slightly sand the surfaces before gluing, and then clean off dust and greasy contaminants. Apply the adhesive evenly to the receiving surface and the back of the ornament, then press the parts together with precise alignment and secure them with a clamp or weight while drying. For full bonding, it is recommended to wait at least 24 hours to ensure the ornament remains durable and attractive.
Thanks to the excellent properties of exotic wood, the decorative elements can be treated with nearly any surface finishing process. You can choose between two main techniques, depending on whether you want to emphasize or conceal the natural wood texture. For surfaces requiring complete coverage, colour painting is recommended, giving a uniform shade. Where you wish to preserve the original wood grain, staining, oiling or waxing is the right choice as these are transparent. If you choose glazing, it is worth priming the surface first (e.g. with Milesi), so the cut fibres will be coloured the same way as the rest of the ornament.
