How do we glue the carvings during furniture making?
For attaching wood carving for furniture, we recommend using wood glue. First, sand the receiving surface and then thoroughly remove any dust. Apply a thin and even layer of wood glue to both prepared surfaces, then carefully join the two pieces. During drying, press them together using a clamp or weight. If glue seeps out from the sides, simply wipe it away with a damp cloth. It's best to wait the recommended 24 hours for drying.
What other ways are there to attach the carvings?
If gluing is not suitable for some reason, mechanical fastening of the wood carving is also possible. For this task, using small brads or wire nails is recommended as they are less visible and do not damage the wood. It is important to insert the nails into pre-drilled holes to prevent the wood from splitting. The heads can be countersunk below the level of the wood, making it easier to conceal them later with wood filler. This method offers a secure and durable solution for attaching the ornament.
