These materials used to make furniture and repair them. They are very light weight, flexible. If you beat these canes, they will not break or crack. Some Fare East sport use as a sword. For example the shaolin’s rattan bo. There are two kinds of rattan pole, rattan pole with peel (as you can see the image below) and the peeled (without peel) rattan pole (as you can see on the right side). There are very easy to work with these materials. Masters also used to make bow from these poles. It is demonstrate the flexibility of the rattan poles that you can camber a three meters long pole in 180 degrees, and then the rattan pole recovers its original shape. If you heat up the bamboo pole over steam or by heatgun and camber it, then let to go room temperature (hold in camber shape); the pole will hold its shape. You can use these materials for rattan furniture repair too.
