Technical details of the square mesh radio weave cane webbing:
Material: folded and rolled cellulose treated with latex. Pattern: 2x2 mm squares, woven from 2 mm wide strands. Width: 90 cm, with the weaving strands extending at least 2 cm beyond the nominal width on each side. Roll length: 15.24 m (50 feet). Quality: first class Load-bearing: not suitable for seating surfaces, but recommended for all other furniture industry applications. Attachment to wooden frames: stapling or fitting into grooves with cane wedge. All our cane webbing rolls are available by the meter.
What is our PROP material made of?
Our cane webbings are typically made from the outer bark of the rattan palm, harvested in Southeast Asian tropical regions. These are ideal materials for furniture, as rattan fabrics are strong and flexible. However, don’t be misled by the appearance of this product, since it is NOT made from rattan palm bark but from folded and rolled, latex-treated cellulose. While this material is very strong, its flexibility is not quite as high as the natural versions. As a result, if it is heavily loaded and then released, it will not regain its original dimensions, so it is not suitable for chair seats. We confidently recommend our other cane webbing rolls for panelling for all other furniture-making uses. Cellulose webbing is more affordable than traditional cane webbing rolls, so if you're not looking to repair furniture, this is an excellent choice.
