How to affix the wooden onlay?
No special tools are required for affixing. You only need a few easy-to-obtain items: sandpaper, wood glue (D2 or D3), and something to hold the onlay in place while it dries. Steps for gluing: it is advisable to sand the back of the onlay before gluing, and if possible, prepare the surface by sanding as well. Apply glue to both of the previously sanded and dusted surfaces, then spread it evenly. After that, simply press the two surfaces together for the drying period. This can be done in several ways: with a cabinetmaker's clamp or by pressing with weights. If any glue seeps out around the onlay, we recommend wiping it off with a slightly damp cloth before it dries. It is advisable to wait for complete drying, which can take 12-24 hours, after which the clamp or press can be removed.

Whether using paint, oil, varnish, or stain, it's always worth dusting and degreasing the ornament before finishing for the perfect result.
