This particular carving is especially popular for decorating kitchen components in diy wood projects for custom cabinetry. Its surface is pre-sanded, so it can be immediately painted, stained, glazed, or even oiled. The wood corner molding can be painted or stained to match the color of the kitchen furniture being restored, so it blends in perfectly. Available in multiple sizes, they can be combined across various kitchen elements on a single piece of furniture.
Even simple windows can gain a unique appearance with decorative window moulding. We ship our carvings from stock, so you can start your window renovation almost immediately without long waiting times. Attaching them does not require great expertise; even someone involved in diy wood projects or a skilled homemaker can do it at home. They can be easily applied to wood surfaces with wood glue; for other surfaces, specific adhesives are needed. This particular ornament can also be used for various indoor decorative purposes, such as decorating dressers, cabinets, mantels, and many other pieces of furniture.
Firstly, if your kitchen furniture to be restored is lacquered, you should remove the lacquer using sandpaper or another suitable method. You don't need to sand the carved wooden ornaments because we send them pre-sanded, but you should sand the receiving surface. The next step is to ensure the sanded receiving surface is free of dust, grease, and dirt. We recommend using wood glue for the attachment. Apply a thin, even layer of wood glue to both surfaces, then join them together precisely. It is important to press them together with a clamp or weight while drying. As a final step, wipe off any excess glue with a clean, damp cloth. The drying time is usually 24 hours.
Yes, of course, they can be finished with oil. Furniture oil is ideal for this purpose, as it is easy to obtain and even those working on diy wood projects can achieve a beautiful result with it. After shaking the oil, apply it with a clean, dry cloth to the entire surface of the decorative window moulding. Let the oil sit on the surface for a few minutes to allow it to be absorbed. Finally, wipe off any excess with a clean, dry cloth if needed. In this case, it is also best to wait the recommended 24 hours for drying.
Ornamentation is a branch of decorative arts, using various decorative elements, patterns, and stylized forms purely for aesthetic reasons to enhance beauty. On furniture pieces, ornamental elements primarily enrich the visual experience and add artistic value to otherwise functional objects. Its socio-cultural role is significant, as the style and richness of ornamentation have always reflected the owner's status and the era's aesthetic ideals. From a practical standpoint, ornamentation helps provide unique character to furniture elements and increases their value, distinguishing them from mass-produced items. In conclusion, ornamentation is a complex system fulfilling aesthetic, cultural, and economic roles in the field of furniture decoration.
