Using carved wooden ornaments greatly simplifies both the restoration and furniture-making processes. Finished carved pieces can save a lot of time and money, while looking just as beautiful as if they were crafted by a cabinetmaker. Machine production ensures that every piece is identical, thus avoiding the quality variations found with handmade products. They are made of solid wood—not sawdust—so they retain their beauty for a long time. Last but not least, our large stock ensures fast order fulfillment.
This carving is especially popular for decorating kitchen elements during kitchen cabinet restoration. Its surface is pre-sanded, so it can be immediately painted, stained, glazed, or even oiled. It is available in multiple sizes, allowing you to combine them on different kitchen elements of the same furniture.
Even simple windows can instantly receive a unique look with the carved patterns. We ship our carvings from stock, so you can almost immediately start window restoration without having to wait long for your order. Applying them does not require great expertise; even a hobby cabinetmaker or a skilled homemaker can do it at home. They can be easily attached to wooden surfaces using wood glue; for other surfaces, a specific adhesive is needed. This carving is also suitable for other interior decoration purposes, such as decorating chests of drawers, cabinets, display fireplaces, and many other furniture pieces.
First, if your kitchen cabinet to be restored is lacquered, you should remove the lacquer with sandpaper or any suitable method. You do not need to sand the carved wooden ornaments, as we send them pre-sanded, but you should prepare the receiving surface. The next step is to ensure that the sanded surface is free of dust, grease, and dirt. We recommend using woodworking glue for gluing. Apply a thin, even layer of woodworking glue to both surfaces, then carefully join the two pieces together. It is important to press them together with a clamp or weight during drying. As a final step, wipe off any excess glue with a clean, damp cloth. The drying time is usually 24 hours.
Yes, of course, these can be surface-treated with oil. For example, furniture oil is particularly ideal for this purpose as it is easy to obtain and even a hobby cabinetmaker can achieve a great result with it. After shaking the oil, apply it to the entire surface of the window frame ornaments with a clean, dry cloth. Let the oil sit for a few minutes so the surface can absorb it. Finally, use a clean, dry cloth to wipe off any excess, if necessary. In this case as well, it is advisable to wait for the recommended 24-hour drying time.
Ornamentation is a branch of decorative arts that uses various decorative elements, patterns, and stylized forms purely for aesthetic purposes, to enhance beauty. On pieces of furniture, ornamental elements primarily serve to enrich the visual experience and add artistic value to otherwise functional objects. Its socio-cultural role is significant, as the style and richness of decoration have always reflected the owner's status and the aesthetic ideals of the era. From a practical perspective, ornamentation helps provide unique character to furniture elements and increases their value, distinguishing them from industrial mass products. In summary, ornamentation is a complex system fulfilling aesthetic, cultural, and economic functions in the field of furniture decoration.
