Mechanics: 3G This bamboo roller blind is made with reinforced slats and no skirting. Its design is the same as the 2G, but it does not have a skirt, so the mechanism is visible. We also recommend it for large, extra-wide or extra-long bamboo blinds. Particularly good for outdoor bamboo blind mechanisms. The shade material rolls up from the bottom.

Mechanics: 2R Bamboo Roman blind (raffrollo) with concealed mechanism The bamboo blind material folds (rather than rolling up in the traditional way) when raised. The mechanism is covered by a skirt. This hides the mechanism. You do not need to take this into account when specifying the dimensions of the blind! As the manufacturing process is more time-consuming than for other types of mechanisms, it is more expensive. Please note: this mechanism is not recommended for blinds taller than 1.5 meters!

Note: for no drill roller blinds installation, ROLKA 1, ROLKA 2, or ROLKA 3 fittings are needed, which have to be ordered separately, they are NOT included!

How does the bamboo roman window shades differ from other blinds?

The essence of bamboo roman window shades, is that the fabric folds instead of rolling up. This design provides a more elegant and aesthetic appearance as the mechanism remains completely concealed. However, the manufacturing process is more time-consuming, so the price for these is somewhat higher than for traditional bamboo roller blinds. In addition to the base price, there is a charge for 10 cm of fabric covering the mechanism and a fitting fee of 10% of the base price. The Roman blinds are best suited for smaller windows; for lengths over 1.5 meters, they are not recommended. For example, a bamboo blinds in size 140x160 cm is not recommended as bamboo roman blinds UK. This limitation ensures that the blind’s function and appearance always remain optimal.

Which bamboo blind material provides the strongest shading?

Choosing the right blinds primarily depends on the surface it will be mounted on. For horizontal or slightly sloped places (up to 45 degrees), the BC-30 material is the most suitable. This is because the slightly overlapping slats almost completely block sunlight coming from above. For vertical surfaces like window shades, the BC-12, BC-13, BC-09, BC-28, or C1C types are recommended. These window shades are more effective at filtering angled light. In short: for horizontal surfaces, choose BC-30; for vertical ones, BC-12, BC-13, BC-09, BC-28, or C1C are preferred. Thanks to its dense, carpet-like material, the BC-28 is suitable for both vertical and horizontal shading. Choosing the correct type not only ensures efficient shading but also provides a harmonious appearance. Thus, these blinds offer maximum comfort and practicality.

How can you accurately determine the required custom size window shades?

It is essential to measure the exact dimensions of bamboo blinds UK, as production is based on these measurements. Always provide width and height in centimeters, accurate to one decimal place. The maximum width of BC12 bamboo window shades is 180 cm. When installing, it is important to leave enough space at the top for the rolled-up blind, ensuring smooth operation. Angled custom made window shades

Please note that this type of roller blind cannot be raised completely, only to the lower point of the slanted section. To do this, provide the desired width and the lengths of the two sides. A drawing is necessary for clear manufacturing. On the drawing, depict the blind from the side where you will stand when raising it, marking which edge the cord should be on. For easier use, we recommend placing the cord on the longer side of the blind. Note: on surfaces steeper than 30°, the automatic brake cannot be guaranteed to function, so the blind must be manually secured.

Second grade bamboo blinds

It is possible to order blinds made from second grade materials as well. The advantage is that these variants are available at a lower price. Second grade blinds may have minor aesthetic faults and variations. These can include a width variation of +/-3 mm, edge height variance of 2 cm/m, slight rod twisting, non-uniform color, or minor curvature of the end rods. There may be one or at most two types of these defects on a product. These minor faults do not affect operation, but may appear aesthetically.
