The blinds are made of natural material, bamboo sticks. These bamboo materials are available in different shades of brown. The brown colour becomes different shades when the sticks are heated, so the sticks are not painted, but the sugar in the bamboo caramelises under the heat.
Bamboo blind materials have different light blocking properties depending on their design. The picture shows how well each material transmits light.
