Rattan fabric is a highly versatile material, often used for chair restoration, rattan radiator covers, or even decorative lampshades. Thanks to its perforated structure, it is ideal as a rattan panels UK for separating indoor spaces, while still allowing light and air to flow through, so the room remains open and airy. Additionally, as a decorative lampshade, rattan creates a unique play of light and shadow, bringing a cozy atmosphere. The material is lightweight and, when slightly moistened, can be shaped easily to create various exciting forms.
It requires minimal maintenance, but regular dusting and dry wiping are recommended. To avoid the risk of mold, excessive moisture and aggressive cleaners should be avoided. Over the years, exposure to sunlight will cause the material's color to mature and darken slightly. If the thonet material is under load, it is recommended to oil the backside with paraffin every two years to keep it strong and flexible.
It means that the material is sold from the roll, so you can purchase exactly the length you need. So, you do not have to buy a whole roll. For larger projects, however, choosing the complete roll is worthwhile, as we provide a 10% price discount. This rattan webbing roll UK is 15.24 meters in length, and you can choose widths of 45, 50, 60, or 90 cm.
Before starting, always test a small piece to see how the material reacts. The front of the rattan cane webbing UK does not absorb paint easily, so use a colorant mixed with shellac or special lacquer. Solvent-based varnishes are recommended over water-based ones, as the latter cause the material to stretch. After drying, the cane regains its original tension. The natural thonet material will darken in color over time.
