The RK-006 ornaments are versatile: as wooden window moulding accessory, for moulding ends, as drawer ornaments, or as corner decoration during wooden table repair. The pyramid design is simple, making it suitable for both modern and classic furniture surfaces. During cabinetmaker work, it is often used as an optical finisher or decorative add-on.
The answer is simple: first, sand the receiving surface and remove any dust. It is not necessary to sand the back side of the carving. Apply a thin layer of wood glue to both surfaces, then clamp them together during drying. Pressing can be done with a weight or a cabinetmaker clamp. It is advisable to wait for the recommended drying time, which is usually 24 hours.
If gluing is not possible for some reason, the carving can also be mechanically fixed. For this operation, it is recommended to use small brads or wire nails, which are less visible and do not damage the wood. It is important to insert nails into pre-drilled holes to prevent the wood from splitting. The heads can be tapped below the carving surface level with a countersink, so the surface is easier to cover aesthetically with wood filler later. Fill the spot of the head with wood filler.
Our ornaments are sold without surface treatment, allowing you to decide what kind of finish to use. The surface of wooden carvings can be painted, oiled, lacquered, or stained to match your furniture’s style. You may, for example, choose a layer of lacquer, which offers long-lasting protection against wear. With a layer of paint, you can highlight the details of the carving. The choice is entirely yours, depending on the outcome you want to achieve.
The pyramid shape is one of the oldest geometric symbols, representing permanence and stability. It has frequently appeared in architecture and wooden carvings, mainly as building ornaments and on the corners of furniture. Cabinetmaker masters have used simple, pyramid-shaped end pieces since the 19th century to achieve a unified, clean effect. In modern moulding and furniture renovation work, this shape combines classic proportions with a contemporary look.
