Finally, wipe away any excess glue with a clean, damp cloth. It is advisable to wait the usually recommended 24 hours for drying.

Yes, you can confidently oil the ornaments even without the help of a fine woodworking expert. Furniture oil is ideal for this purpose, as it's easy to obtain and even a hobby woodworker can achieve great results with it. After shaking the oil, apply it to the entire surface of the decorative wood carving using a clean, dry cloth. Then let it sit for a few minutes so the surface can absorb the oil. As a last step, wipe off the excess with a clean, dry cloth if needed. In this case, too, it's best to wait for the recommended 24-hour drying time.
