Maintaining indoor rattan blinds is easy, just occasional dusting is needed. We offer a 5-year replacement warranty on the mechanism, and provide a video guide for replacement. We support replacement of the pull cord (a consumable part) with a video guide. For outdoor use, it is recommended to treat the material with oil or a thin glaze every 2-3 years. The blind should only be rolled up when completely dry to prevent mold. It is important to always retract the shade during strong winds or storms, as wind can damage it.
In our experience, surprisingly long. We know of outdoor blinds that have functioned for 15 years without problems, though of course this lifespan depends on many factors. This particular blind is installed at the latitude of Milan, on a south-facing terrace (geographical altitude and orientation are important too). It is treated with a thin glaze every two to three years, and since it is taken down for this, the pull cord is replaced then as well. The mechanism has not broken over time, but the contrast between colors has significantly decreased. This is a BC-09 type material made of two colors: brown slats and white rods. Sometimes it was left lowered in windy weather, so in two places there are rod breaks the size of a one-euro coin at the edge where the storm hit it against the beam. Despite these, the blind still functions and provides shade.
Always specify width and height in centimeters. Also account for the space that the rolled-up blind occupies at the top. In these, small deviations can occur, with up to 2 cm height difference per meter, minor rod twisting, or not perfectly uniform color. The shape of the end rods may be slightly curved.
